ICT Project Manager - Implementation Coordinator

DELOITTE is looking for a payroll Senior Consultant for our office in Madrid. The successful candidate will provide on-site services to one of our Public Sector clients based in The Hague (The Netherlands) for 1-2 years, returning to Madrid after that. The position is in the ICT Solutions Deployment area, where an implementation coordinator is needed.


Your role:

The consultant will perform the following tasks/services in relation to several IT projects:


Release Management

In close cooperation with other teams, the consultant will create and maintain the deployment planning for all the client services, namely:

  • Analyse and report on:
    • Interdependencies between planned releases.
    • Completes of readiness for production deployment of received deployment packages.
    • Workload requirements and resolve potential planning conflicts.
    • Risks and mitigation methods.
  • Coordinate implementation activities, in the following aspects:
    • Allocation of deployment resources.
    • User Acceptance Tests.
    • Security tests.
    • Post deployment reviews.
    • Cooperate with ICT Infrastructure and Operations and ICT Solution Delivery in order to understand, plan and assure availability of resources for upcoming releases.
  • Evaluate process efficiency and propose improvements.
  • Report on:
    • Resource recruitments for planned deployment activates.
    • Efficiency of Quality Assurance and planning.
    • Deployment activities and propose further improvements.
  • Cooperate on further development of Release Management process.


Change Management

  • Collect, analyse, authorise or present during CAB meetings of all registered change requests.
  • Allocate resources necessary for deployment activities, with cooperation a.o. with Infrastructure Services, Solutions Operations, Workplace Services, Embedded ICT Security teams.
  • Coordinate and control deployment of registered and approved changes to controlled ICT infrastructure.
  • Review closed changes in context of achievements of intended goals, time- and workload-effectiveness of deployment activities, impacts on live services: following up incidents, hotfixes and problems.
  • Propose process improvements and cooperate on further development of Change Management process.
  • Create and present periodical reporting and levels of daily process control reporting and analytical process effectiveness reporting.
  • Cooperate to enhance and adapt workflows related to the Automated Deployment framework.


Your knowledge and skills:

  • Working knowledge of English (minimum B2).
  • Good reporting methods.
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL or equivalent and at least ITIL Foundation certificate or equivalent. ITIL certificates exceeding ITIL Foundation will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance issues.
  • Understanding of ICT Infrastructure.
  • Project Management (Prince2, PMI) certificate will be an asset.


To fit in the role, you also need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in management of software and infrastructural release deployments activities and at least 3 of them in Change Management in complex ICT environments.
  • Experience in organising and evaluating of User Acceptance Testing.
