Senior - EMEA Spain Intrusion Detection Prevention Analyst

The “IDS/IPS Analyst” will be responsible for operations of the security technologies that fall under the umbrella of the Cybersecurity – Intrusion Detection Service portfolio. Maintains global IDS/IPS event detection/ prevention and Network Detection & Response requirements. Actively participates in the investigation and remediation of security events as per incidents. Should have the desire to collaborate with other Deloitte teams, firms and external parties to address/remediate identified security issues.

 

What will your day-to-day be like?

  • Coordinate with enterprise-wide global teams to lead installation, configuration, engineering, administration, and accreditation documents/diagrams for the IDPS and lateral monitoring (Network Detection & Response) solutions life cycle. This may include replacements upgrades, enhancements, and new technology deployments.
  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS) logs to identify security issues for remediation.
  • Provide operational support to the Intrusion Detection and Prevention service.
  • Providing consultation services with regards to signature changes and updates.
  • Continually improve the security posture of Deloitte network systems.
  • Assists in incident reports of analysis methodology and results.
  • Assist in drafting and editing IDS/IPS related standards, policies and guidelines as well as related risk models, methods and procedures.

 

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor´s degree (STEM) or professional studies.
  • Minimum 1+ year/s of experience in network security.
  • Good understanding of common TCP/IP architecture, principles, operations and controls.
  • Any background in security operations and security systems management.
  • Solid understanding of basic protocols used by the internet, such as HTTP(S), DNS, TLS.
  • Good understanding of common IPS/IDS technologies, processes, and methodologies. 
  • Good understanding of Information/ Network security principles

  • Any working experience with the Cisco, Checkpoint or Palo Alto IPS products will be a plus
  • Other quealifications: Holds any industry-recognized security certifications is good to have (e.g., Cisco Certified Security Professional, CCNA, CompTIA Sec+ , CEH etc.)
